Frasers Solar Farm Community Information Drop-In Session 15/09/19

As you may be aware, South Energy is proposing a 75-megawatt solar farm near Glengarry North, Victoria. Known as Frasers Solar Farm, the project will generate enough clean power for the equivalent of approximately 25,000 households and reduce harmful carbon dioxide emissions by the equivalent of approximately 157,000 tonnes per year (equal to taking 33,000 cars off the road).

At this stage, South Energy is in the process of drafting a Development Application to be submitted to Latrobe City Council. We understand this proposal is of interest to you and would like to invite you to attend the Glengarry Community Drop-in Session we will be hosting at the Glengarry Mechanics Hall on Sunday, 15 September from 1-3:30PM.

With catering by the Glengarry Community Association, the drop-in session will be an ideal opportunity to have your questions answered by members of the project team.

Goorambat Solar Farm Planning Permit Approval

South Energy is very proud to announce that our solar farm is coming to northern Victoria, after the project received a planning permit from Benalla City Council on 1 September 2019

Goorambat is a rural township 17 km north of Benalla on the way to Yarrawonga. The Goorambat Solar Farm will be located 430 metres south-east of the Goorambat township in country Victoria. Situated on approximately 130 hectares of farm land, it is well-positioned to receive excellent exposure to northern Victoria’s rich solar resource.

With an estimated network capacity of 75 megawatts (MW), the Frasers Solar Farm is expected to generate enough clean power for approximately 29,000 households – this will help Australians reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 154,000 tonnes per year.

As a result of receiving the permit, South Energy has also reached a notable milestone, providing us with the opportunity to reflect, recognise and show gratitude for the enormous effort our dedicated project team has been putting in. South Energy would like to sincerely say thank you to all community members and authorities involved for the support given to the project. We are honoured to be part of a tremendous community and look forward to strengthening our bonds and prosperity.

South Energy remains committed to continuing to collaborate with everyone towards the delivery of the project. Hence, the public is encouraged and welcome to contact us should they have any questions or wishes to know more about the project.
